In a world of short cuts and quick gains we take pride in manufacturing the highest quality furniture which takes time to create.
It starts with our timber selection, bought in from the best importers in the country, logs which are sourced from foresters around the world. Getting timber to the correct conditions for furniture making is a timely process, air dried for years before being carefully kilned. Our cabinet makers select the timber from logs for each piece they make individually. Picking over planks and making the best judgement on the characteristics of the wood to meet a particular client request. Some prefer straight and clean, some prefer as much character and cat paw knots as possible.
Each piece we make is made from start to finish by one craftsman, no assembly line here thank you. This ensures we meet the standards expected of us, it guarantees the design brief is met precisely and consistently. We use traditional methods and techniques in our workshop which have been handed down through generations. Each piece is French polished by another single individual, again working with the client closely to ensure the colour, the level of ageing and the particular sheen levels are all met.
We encourage you to come and meet our craftsmen, perhaps whilst working on your piece so you can see it being made, this will give you a unique perspective on the piece you have commissioned which you will live with for years to come and having met the craftsman involved will give you a much higher level of satisfaction…..so we are regularly told by our customers!
